Still time to count in Census 2017

October 11, 2017 1:09 am

Census officials are calling on the public that weren’t available during the enumeration period that there is still time to be counted.

Bureau of Statistics Senior Statistician, Emali Soderberg, says while the focus this week is on verifying the data collected, they will also be able to count some households that may have been left.

She says people can call them on their helpline, 5-1-5-1.

“Yes, we’d really just like to thank Fiji for allowing us to enumerate them and their households and just ensure if people aren’t enumerated to call toll free line and give us their contacts and location so that we’ll be able to enumerate them by the end of the week.”

Close to 98 percent of households in Fiji were accounted for in Census 2017.

Soderberg adds data analysts will start working through the information collected on the Population and Household Census next week with preliminary findings expected by year end.
