STCF welcomes increase in pay

The Early Childhood Education teachers have been underpaid for many years.

This is according to Save the Children Fiji Chief Executive Officer, Iris Low McKenzie who has acknowledged the increased allocation of $3.5 million for the Early Education teacher’s salaries.

Save the Children has been working with Early Childhood Education Centres in 52 informal settlements in the last 10 years.

She also says that the allocation of one million dollars towards Child Protection provides an opportunity for organisations working with children to work with the Government such as the Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation towards the fight to end violence against children.
