The Legal Aid Commission will have a bigger slice of the pie in next year’s budget after the government announced that it will increase their budget allocation next year.

Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khiayum says the decision is in line with government’s commitment to ensure that legal services are accessible to everyone.

“What has happened after yesterday’s approval, legal Aid will now get 65%, and 10% for judiciary fund and all the others will remain. What this does it enables the Legal Aid Commission to open up new offices throughout Fiji.”
