Stakeholders to discuss moves beyond Turtle Moratorium
July 16, 2018 12:05 am
WWF-Pacific in partnership with the Ministry of Fisheries will discuss the future beyond the decade Turtle Moratorium which ends in five months.
The one day workshop will see stakeholders, share and discuss information on sea turtle conservation projects that they have undertaken over the past years.
The workshop will also see stakeholders review the National Sea Turtle Recovery Plan.
With, Fiji’s 10 Year Turtle Moratorium to come to an end in December this year, the data and discussions that will be shared will greatly provide the necessary data for the Ministry of Fisheries and stakeholders to navigate the way forward when the moratorium comes to end.
It will also be the first time in years that stakeholders across the country have been brought together, to plan the way forward for turtle conservation in Fiji.
