Staff suspension over conduct and delivery

The Education Ministry has revealed that it suspends a staff almost every fortnight.

Speaking in Lautoka Minister Dr Mahendra Reddy says the complaints against staff conduct and delivery are coming in every week.

“I get complaints about staff-staff relationship – staff student relationship. Some of these complaints are mind-boggling, quite depressing. We get staff suspension every fortnight – a staff is suspended.”

Dr Mahendra Reddy says the Ministry is undertaking reforms to move education forward and raise the benchmark for education excellence in this country – and such actions will not be tolerated.

He says improving the quality of staff is one of the pillars of reforms that the Ministry is undertaking.

Part of the Ministry’s reform plan is to up-skill and upgrade staff knowledge and capacity.

It started undertaking this from January this year.
