SPF roof repair works slightly delayed

August 8, 2014 6:15 am

Repair works carried out at the South Pacific Fertilizers Limited factory in Lautoka have slightly been delayed.

Work has been stopped on the advice of the engineers who have seen a need for some additional changes to the structure.

The factory roof was badly damaged during Cyclone Evan in 2012 and the roof had to be replaced to protect the stock inside the factory.

SPF general manager Ashwin Ram told FBC News the temporary roofing structure they had first put up cost the company several hundred thousand dollars.

The permanent structure was brought in from overseas and about sixty percent of the replacement work has been done.

All the repairs are now expected to be complete within the next three months.
