Special Administrator to take plea in September

Lautoka and Ba Special Administrator Praveen Bala appeared in the Lautoka Magistrates Court today facing charges of dangerous driving occasioning death.

Magistrate Peni Dalituicama has deferred the case to September 30th when Bala will take his plea.

Bala who has been announced as a FijiFirst candidate for next month’s elections was initially scheduled to appear in court on October 20th.

His case was brought forward after three consecutive adjournments to his case due to the unavailability of the magistrate.

Bala who is also the Special Administrator for Tavua is charged for causing death by dangerous driving.

He allegedly hit 48 year old father of three, Puna Chand at Teidamu near Lautoka last year in November.
