Speaker to host Pacific Women parliamentarian forum

Over thirty women parliamentarians from the Pacific and twenty one women from the Australian and New Zealand parliament will take part in the third annual Pacific Women’s Parliamentarian Forum in Fiji.

The three day event which will begin from Wednesday is being hosted by the Speaker of the Parliament – Dr Jiko Luveni.

The focus of this year’s forum will be on family violence and challenges women face in the region.

It will be an opportunity for the delegates to share their experience and support one another as women parliamentarians.

For the first time ever, male parliamentarians will be part of the forum which includes four Speakers of Parliament.

The Forum is being funded by the Australian Government’s Pacific Women Shaping Development initiative.
