It’s was an impromptu yet memorable addition to the Fijian Broadcasting Corporations 65th birthday celebrations Friday night.

Honored guest, former President and current Speaker of Parliament Ratu Epeli Nailatikau recollected how growing up, FBC radio was a mainstay for every household and a meeting place for many rural communities.

Ratu Epeli spoke about how families would wait to listen to FBC in the early evenings and how because there were no Fijian records at the time, villagers from across the country would be asked to perform live on radio.
