The Fiji Corrections Service continues to break barriers by giving inmates a second chance.

Today marks another milestone achievement for the Corrections Service ‘Sow a Seed’ programme as five sponsors have come on board to mentor five inmates.

Speaking at the event, FCS Commissioner Francis Kean says giving inmates a second chance they deserve is vital and the ‘Sow a Seed’ is one such programme that gives lifetime opportunities to those incarcerated.

Young inmates under the programme are selected by senior wardens at various correctional facilities and this also helps them secure employment.

Kean is urging the inmates to make use of this opportunity.

“At the end of the day the choice is yours, if you want to continue to go down the path that brought you under our care or you want to make that change we are here to help you, you are young kids and there’s so much in front of you”

The Fiji Corrections Service is again calling on all Fijians to become volunteers to support youths who have fallen on the wrong side of the law.
