Expect waiting times to decrease at the Nadi Hospital following the opening of the Special Outpatients Department today.

Minister for Health Rosy Akbar says the department which was closed for more than a decade received a major refurbishment.

“The whole idea was to divert the long waiting queue at the General Out-Patient department and the whole idea was to reduce the waiting times and to ensure that the service delivery was lifted to another level."

She says the new Special Outpatients Department is a major boost for the Nadi Hospital as around five hundred people visit the General Outpatients on a regular basis.

The cost of the refurbishment was $60,000.
