With medical service delivery an ongoing issue around the country, Sayed-Khaiyum says this issue can only be solved if a modern approach is taken to deal with certain health issues.

“Many of the ways in which we practice the administration of the delivery of medical services in Fiji has been very archaic and in fact we are dealing with some of the structures and this is why civil service reforms are very critically important to look at new ways of delivering services and look at new ways that gives people the idea to look at all people coming through that door as a client of theirs."

Sayed-Khaiyum says there is also a great need to bring in proper administrators within the health ministry and specialist are needed to coordinate the delivery of health services around the country.
