Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama is currently in Honiara in the Solomon Islands attending the Pacific Islands Develop Forum Leadership Summit and the Melanesian Spearhead Group Special Leadership Retreat.
Earlier this week, Bainimarama received a donation of one hundred and fifty six thousand, five hundred and eighty dollars from the Solomon Islands Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare towards Cyclone Winston victims.
The PM thanked the people and the government of the Solomon Islands for their donation and emphasised the importance of regional cooperation in rebuilding from natural disasters.
Prime Minister Sogovare said it was in everyone’s interest to ensure that Fiji was supported in their time of need.
The donation was in addition to more than eighty seven thousand dollars committed to the PM’s relief fund by the Fijian community residing in the Solomon Islands.
