Injured soldier Kinivilame Cabemailau serving under the United Nations Multinational Force and Observer Group is recovering well in hospital in Israel.
Cabemailau sustained injuries after he was shot in the abdomen as a result of stray bullets fired into the camp at the Northern Sinai Peninsula on Friday.
RFMF Land force Commander Colonel Sitiveni Qiliho says Cabemailau has completed surgery to remove the bullet and remains admitted but is recovering well.
The Northern camp- where many of the Fijian soldiers are located came under fire from militants engaged with Egyptian forces.
The camp received indirect fire in the form of mortars and small arms impacting the vicinity of the camp.
