A 55-year-old retired soldier who’s charged with the murder of a 23-year-old man of Raiwaqa last week has been further remanded in custody.

Wame Waqavanua appeared in the Suva High Court applied for bail this morning however it has been adjourned to the 18th of this month.

State Counsel Meli Vosawale says they are seeking time to file disclosures and information.

Waqavanua, allegedly assaulted and murdered 23-year-old Watisoni Rokosawa last Tuesday it is alleged that the deceased scratched Waqavanua’s new vehicle which was parked outside his house.

Police say Rokosawa was arrested; however officers later took him to hospital after noting his injuries.
