The Supervisor of Elections is warning political parties using his images to attract party agents, to refrain from doing so.

Mohammed Saneem says these attempts are not going to benefit parties as the Fijian Elections Office is apolitical.

He adds anyone using his images for these purpose will only gain agents who are politically neutral.

“Political parties need to use their own campaign mechanisms to attract agents – instead of using the SOE’s photo. These attempts by some parties are rather unfortunate.”

Saneem adds that party agents are chosen to represent the parties by monitoring polling and counting venues on election day.

Meanwhile, Saneem has also clarified that representatives from political parties will be allowed to be present at polling centres.
