Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem says various political parties need to ensure that proper training is provided to the party agents for the upcoming General Election.
Saneem says it’s important that agents are given the required training as they will be based at crucial locations such as the vote counting and polling stations on Election Day.
However, he adds only one representative from each political party will be allowed at these areas.
“The Fijian Elections Office wants parties to get agents. It is important for political parties organize training for their agents to ensure that those who are present in polling places on Election Day behalf of the parties are well trained and understand the process.”
The SOE says parties inviting Fijians to join as agents does not involve the Fijian Elections Office.
