SODEPLA Vice President calls for Special General Meeting

February 26, 2018 6:29 pm

Social Democratic Liberal Party’s Vice President Ro Dona Takalaiyale says he has written to the party’s executive on three separate occasions to hold a Special General Meeting seeking clarifications on a number of issues.

Ro Dona says not all of SODELPA’s members were behind the Memorandum of Understanding that was signed with former members of the People’s Democratic Party last year.

“What I think is important to note is the FICAC issue on Vijay Singh is still there, so now they’ve rescinded his appointment, they should come to the SGM so all we want to do is to clear out everything that the members of SODELPA are asking from all the constituencies.”

Ro Dona says since last year, of his three formal correspondences to the Party executive, only one has being acknowledged and there has been no confirmation for an extraordinary meeting.

He adds he has been in contact with a lawyer for legal advice on how to proceed further on the matter.

Numerous calls to SODELPA Party Leader Sitiveni Rabuka for a comment on this issue remain unanswered.
