April 30, 2019 6:00 am

Sourcing funds for youth campaigning in the 2022 General Election, is top priority for the SODELPA’s youth wing.

Youth wing President, Jope Koroisavou says this will be among the key discussion at the Annual General meeting in Suva today.

Koroisavou says the lack of funds was one of the main challenges in past elections.

Under the Political Parties Act – it states that Political parties may only be funded by membership fees and contributions from individuals and all sources of funding must be disclosed.

Koroisavou adds this restricts the funding activity the Youth Wing would like to undertake.

“We would like to prepare more on that come 2022 so we will be looking at how we can generate funds for the party especially the YOUTH WING to better prepare us for the next election.”

Other issues on the AGM’s agenda is how to engage more participation from youth supporters.

The meeting will be held in Suva today with 5,000 members expected to attend.
