SODELPA to remove expatriates when they come to power

November 7, 2018 11:48 pm

The Social Democratic Liberal Party will avoid using expatriates to take up high posts in government if they take up office come next Wednesday.

While speaking to SODELPA supporters in Narere, SODELPA candidate Anasa Vocea says this will enable cost cutting as some expatriates are being paid double the amount of what local workers are paid.

Vocea says as part of their manifesto, they will work to ensure Fijians take up positions so that funds are generated in the country and not taken out.

He adds this will also enable Fijians to work hard, graduate and know that employment opportunities are available for them in the country.

The candidate also claims this will help reduce the number of Fijians migrating.
