The Social Democratic Liberal Party will re-look at the contracts and the job test that is implemented for teachers by the Education Ministry if they form the next government come November 14.
While speaking to SODELPA supporters in Narere, Nasinu this week, Sitiveni Rabuka says the job test and contracts is not needed as teachers are qualified and they can handle any situation in schools.
Rabuka says as part of their manifesto, they will re-look at how the education system works to ensure that teachers are satisfied with the ministry’s approach in an effort to enhance their work in schools.
He adds teachers’ contribution will greatly affect students and if the environment is not good for them to work in, this will affect their performance.
He adds they will also increase the retirement age to 60.
