SODELPA split over $2 registration fee

February 26, 2018 4:44 am

The Social Democratic Liberal Party has continued to make headlines of an obvious split among its members.

SODELPA Vice President – Ro Dona Takalaiyale has told FBC News that not only is he a valid and registered member of the party but that the issue should have being handled better by the party executives.

“Rabuka’s doubting my membership of SODELPA based on a $2 subscription fee, I’m very sad and disappointed that he is in his position of leadership and has to say such a thing. He has noted that the Gone Marama Bale Ro Teimumu Kepa has paid some money on the confirmation on who those monies were for that could have easily handled.”

Ro Dona says the issue came to the forefront with SODELPA’s Party Leader – Sitiveni Rabuka publically calling his appointment into question.

Ro Dona says as VP and President of the Rewa Constituency, he has written on three occasions to the executive to hold a Special General Meeting to clarify a number of issues.

Among the issues is the partnership with former People’s Democratic Party Leader Lynda Tabuya and member Vijay Singh.

Numerous calls to the SODELPA Party Leader Sitiveni Rabuka for a comment on this issue remain unanswered.
