Save the Children Fiji has trained 14 social welfare officers from the Fiji Juveniles Rehabilitation and Development centre this week.

The officers were trained on positive discipline approaches for children under their care.

These positive approaches aim to equip officers with the necessary skills in disciplining children without the use of violence.

The Officers shared challenging behaviors they encounter and worked together to adopt positive approaches in addressing these.

The training included discussions around development stages especially of those within the age of 13 to 18 years old who are in conflict with the law.

The officers were also reminded that it is their duty to protect children.
