Students at the Labasa Sangam College have been sent home as the smoke from the fire at the Dalomo Sawmill has interrupted their lessons.

FBC News confirms that the students were sent home at around mid-day.

This was also the case for Monday and Tuesday.

The school is liaising with the Ministry of Education on the issue.

FBC News visited the site again this afternoon and there is still a lot of smoke coming out of the burnt stockpile.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
