Sloppy work will not be accepted in Construction Industry: Kumar

The Consumer Council says construction companies who provide shoddy construction for their customers will be taken to task.

Council’s Chief Executive Premila Kumar says this acts will not be accepted.
Kumar has also confirmed the Council has received numerous complaints in regards to this.

“One of the biggest problem consumers are facing is where the money is taken and the job is not completed and they do shoddy jobs. They will say yes, we have done the job but they have used cheap materials and they have not completed the work as per consumer’s expectation.”

Kumar adds that over the last five years, the Council has received around one hundred and fifty complaints.

The public is advised to report such matters to the council by calling their national consumer helpline toll free number on 155.
