Slight decrease in February visitor arrivals

A slight decrease was recorded in visitor arrivals last month when compared to the same period a year ago.

Over 48, 700 visitors came to our shores in February.

Decreases in arrivals were recorded from Australia, China, Continental Europe and the USA, whereas increases were recorded from Japan, Pacific Islands, New Zealand, Asia, South Korea, the UK and Canada.

Visitors arriving for holiday purposes accounted for around 70 percent of the total.

A majority of the visitors were in the age range of 25 to 64 which covers the vast majority of the working age population.
