Six tenants continue to resist eviction notice

September 20, 2019 4:40 pm

Six tenants at the Public Rental Board Flats along Mead Road Nabua, continue to resist the eviction notice given to them almost a year ago.

PRB Acting General Manager Patrick Veu says their lawyers are still dealing with the case.

The six families were given the notice following suspicious activities of drug dealing and also after some of its tenants were involved in an alleged attack on Police along Mead Road in August last year.

The case of the eight people involved in the attack is still before the court.

Meanwhile, a total of 140 PRB tenants have been given eviction notices to vacate in two months.

Most of these tenants are living above the $25,000 threshold which exceeds the agreements for tenancy.

Veu says once these tenants’ moves, proper procedures will be followed for new tenancy.
