Six Naval Officers commissioned

Six Naval officers were commissioned by the Acting Military Commander Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto at the Naval Base in Walu Bay, Suva yesterday.

After three years of studying in India, Vinit Vikash Raj received his commissioning parchment – which is presented to an officer on his first commission as a regular serving officer in the RFMF.

Raj now becomes the only Fijian of Indian descent in the Fiji Navy.

“We face physical,mental because we have to be both mentally and physically tough. Actually spending out lives out,what other people dont live,so it is quite hard,sacrifice our family time,we have to sort it out,so it is quite challenging,it is not an easy task.”

Speaking to the officers, Acting Military Commander Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto reminded them of their duty to place others interest before their own.

Naupoto also reminded the men that their dedication and commitment to their work will define who they are.

Other officers commissioned include Jovilisi Katonibau, Josaia Buarua, Viliame Litidamu, Onesi Enesi and Joseva Navakaroko.

They underwent a six year training before being commissioned.
