Six escape early morning fire in Suva

Six people escaped an early morning fire that destroyed a house in Milverton Road, Suva.

It’s believed the fire was caused by a child playing with matches around 7 am.

Neighbors who saw smoke billowing out of one of the rooms raised the alarm and helped occupants escape before the fire engulfed the house.

FBC News was told that the adults in the house were still asleep when the fire started and were caught by surprise when woken up by neighbors.

It is believed there were four adults and two children in the house at the time.

The National Fire Authority has put out the blaze, however, all contents within the home have been destroyed.
