Twelve families of Sinuvaca village on Koro Island who live beside the sea have moved to higher grounds.

Sinuvaca villager, Miliakere Divuvu, told FBC News they were advised by their village headman yesterday morning to follow instructions and take actions before bad weather strikes.

Divuvu says while these families have moved to safe ground, others are also packing their stuff.

The villagers say the sea is rough and they are also experiencing strong winds but there is still no rain on the island.
