Praneet Singh has been appointed the new Trade Commissioner for North America.

His appointment was announced during the Fiji-USA Business Council annual general meeting in Suva last night.

Local Government Minister Premila Kumar urged support from the council for the new appointment.

Singh will take up office in the next few months.

Singh has vast experience in the private sector, having been a Senior Accountant at ANZ Bank in New Zealand.

Meanwhile, the Minister also congratulated the Council for another successful year in operation.

She says the government appreciates the enormous potential in the bilateral relationship.

Kumar says this is clearly evident from Fiji’s diplomatic and commercial presence in Washington D.C. and Los Angeles, respectively.
