Sigatoka residents to face water cuts

Residents living in parts of Sigatoka town will experience water disruptions tomorrow.

The Fiji Electricity Authority has planned a power shutdown that will affect the Water Authority’s Motovo Treatment Plant and borehole pumping station at Korotogo.

Areas affected include Naduri, Nakabuta, Nakalavo, Barara, Nacocolevu Research Station, Nasau Youth Camp, Nasau whole area, Lawai, Kadrakulu, Sigatoka Town, Nayawa, Laselase, Oloolo, Olosara, Korotogo, Outrigger Hotel, Tubakula Resort, Kula Bird Park, Malevu, Sigatoka Hospital, Nasama village, Vunavutu village, Kulukulu, Volivoli village, Nadrocolo, Yadua and Malaqereqere.

Residents are urged to store enough water to last for more than 12 hours.

Meanwhile Ba residents are experiencing supply disruptions from this morning after the Varaciva Pumping Station developed electrical problem last night.

Ba residents are advised to store water whenever supply is normal in their taps.
