Preparations are continuing for two Sigatoka chefs who will for the first time ever represent Fiji at the Global Chefs Challenge Finals in Russia next year.

This is after Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort chefs Navneet Reddy and Muni Vikash Chetty won Gold Medals during the Pacific Rim Semifinals in Australia, beating chefs from across the Pacific which included New Zealand and Australia.

26 year old Chef Navneet Reddy says they’ve created history for Fiji in Australia and now they have another chance to stamp Fiji’s name amongst top chefs from around the world during the Chefs Congress in Russia.

“Russia is actually a big platform to compete in so we are preparing very well by doing a lot more research on food dishes.”

32 year old Pastry Chef Muni Chetty says it’s an honour to represent Fiji in the finals.

“Very proud because we will represent our country and its like playing rugby 7s where you have the Fiji emblem which is really huge.”

Navneet and Muni had won the National Culinaire competition held last year, qualifying to participate at the Pacific Rim Semifinals in Australia.
