Sigatoka Town will be celebrating its 78th birthday in the form of Sigatoka Day on Saturday.

According to Rajnel Prasad, the Events Director there will be many competitions that the whole family can be a part of.

“Come over and be part of this event because Sigatoka will be celebrating their 78th birthday. This is one of a kind and a first event that Sigatoka that we are celebrating. So we like to thank the people of Sigatoka to come and join this event and be part of this event.”

A world class fireworks event is also being planned on the Sigatoka River.

Prasad says Sigatoka Day will also become an annual event as it builds up to its 80th anniversary in two-years.
