Shareholders and landowners to work together

July 28, 2017 1:36 am

The landowners and the shareholders associated with the Nabou Green Energy project have been urged to work together to give continuity to the biomass plant.

The biomass plant at Nabou in Sigatoka was opened last night.

Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, says the plant is a win-win situation for both landowners and the shareholders.

“We must be able to support each other so this project stays for the next ten, twenty to thirty years. The investors get their return, we get the benefits, and landowners continue to get more benefits. As the plant grows, they’ll probably require more land to plant more trees."

The company is planning another project of similar capacity in Sabeto, Nadi and will again seek the government’s support.
