A 7-year-old boy is the country’s latest drowning victim.

He drowned in the Nasese waters in Suva this afternoon while swimming with some of his friends.

Police Spokesperson, Ana Naisoro says they tried to resuscitate the child and later took him to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital.

He was confirmed dead minutes after arriving at the hospital.

Police are also continuing the search of another missing child believed to swimming with the deceased and his friends.

Police are pleading with members of the public to monitor the whereabouts of their children.
