Seven people are being questioned by police in the Western division after items believed to be from an aggravated burglary case in Vitogo, Lautoka last month was found in their possession.
Police say the assorted items were worth more than $6,000.
This comes as the Western Division taskforce steps up the momentum of an investigation into aggravated robbery and burglary cases and also focusing on the receivers of stolen items.
The task force made up of officers from the Criminal Investigation Department from Lautoka, Namaka and Nadi were formed to detect the cases of burglaries and theft and to date has seen up to $10,000 worth of recoveries made from other aggravated robbery cases.
Divisional Police Commander West Acting Senior Superintendent of Police Abdul Khan says aggravated robberies and burglaries will continue to take place if criminals have a market to dispose of the stolen items.
Khan adds the focus on receivers is a major component of their operations because they want to send out a strong message that supporting the illegal act will not be condoned.
