Seven parties registered for General Election

The Fijian Elections Office has confirmed the registration of seven political parties for the upcoming General Election.

Elections Supervisor, Mohammed Saneem says these seven parties have met all the electoral requirements hence they have been given approvals to contest the election.

The parties include Fiji First, Fiji Labour Party, National Federation Party, Social Democratic Liberal Party, People’s Democratic Party, Freedom Alliance and Unity Fiji.

Saneem adds the FEO’s preparation for the Election has been completed and they are ready to officiate once the election date is announced.

Meanwhile, the Elections Supervisor says a call centre will be activated to assist voters with the election processes should the need arise.

He adds an SMS platform has also been activated, whereby, Fijians can text in their voter number to 1500 to check their polling venue.
