Seven more arrested for alleged drug possession

Police have confirmed that seven more people have been arrested since Thursday for alleged possession of drugs.

A 28-year-old woman of MacFarlane Road, Raiwai in Suva was arrested and detained on Thursday after it was alleged she was found in possession of a small clear plastic containing white crystals believed to be methamphetamine.

The drugs have been sent for analysis.

Two 16-year-old students of Bhawani Dayal Arya College in Nakasi were also arrested on the same day after it was alleged they had a black plastic bag containing leaves believed to be marijuana.

The leaves have also been sent for analysis.

Meanwhile, a 24-year-old man of Nadoria, Rewa was arrested yesterday after information was received by Police.

The man was also found in possession of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

The suspect remains in custody while the drugs have been sent to be analyzed.

A 28-year-old man of Sabeto, Nadi is now police custody after he was alleged to be in possession of one sachet of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

Drugs have been sent for analysis.

In another incident, a 25 year old man was arrested at Nadi’s Koroivolu Park for allegedly being in possession of one sachet dried leaves suspected to be marijuana.

Suspect remains in custody as drugs are being analyzed.

Meanwhile, twelve bullets of dried leaves wrapped in aluminum foil believed to be marijuana was found in possession of a 54-year-old man of Nailaga, Ba.

The suspect was arrested from the Ba market and is currently in police custody while the drugs have been sent for analysis.
