The ruthless strong winds of Tropical Cyclone Winston have fully damaged seven houses in the village of Nauluvatu in Naitasiri.

Speaking to FBC News from the village, Pita Vakaravia, says the families of the seven houses were lucky to escape death as they were evacuated just in time before Cyclone Winston struck at about 3pm earlier today.

Vakaravia says over two hundred villagers are now evacuated in the two evacuation centres in the village.

With Cyclone Winston slowly moving out of Viti Levu, fear has grown amongst villagers as the water level of WaidinaRiver isrising.

Vakaravia says all men in the village are currently monitoring the water level.
