Seruiratu urges collobration to advance agricutlure

Minister for Agriculture Inia Seruiratu has commended the work of Biotec Limited as being the first business to offer disease free high quality planting materials.

Seruiratu says he’s interested in the work of Biotec Limited as these are the things the Ministry can outsource to private sectors.

He suggested that the company should collaborate with the Government through the Ministry of Agriculture to advance the local agricultural sector.

Biotec Limited Director Jerome Kado says the major challenge they face is shortage of healthy planting materials.

Furthermore, Kado has thanked the Agriculture Ministry for their support
Biotec Limited’s current focus is supplying tissue cultured planting materials to exporters of fresh dalo, ginger and banana in Fiji.

Meanwhile, Biotec Limited is the first business in the South Pacific to offer disease free high quality planting materials through commercial tissue culture operations.
