Five Hawksbill Turtles were given the chance to explore the Pacific Ocean after being released at Treasure Island by Agriculture Minister Inia Seruiratu as part of World Turtle Day.

Seruiratu says the turtles were part of the resort’s continuous programme on the protection of turtles that were listed as an endangered species.

He adds with the increase foreshore development, industrialization, pollution and waste disposal, the survival of these endangered species are reduced.
