Health Minister Rosy Akbar has challenged senior managers in the health ministry to step up their roles and take health services to a new level.
Akbar says there’s a need for stronger leadership role within the administration of the public health and hospital services in the country.
With the Fijian constitution guaranteeing health care to all Fijians, Akbar says they need to capitalize on these opportunities to provide patient friendly hospital environments.
“I strongly believe that you are the very people within the Ministry that can help us to make the much needed positive difference. As leaders within the health facilities you have been trusted to lead, you need to convey potential enthusiasm and passion for the role by being service oriented.”
Akbar says senior officials should take ownership and pride to provide the services they’re assigned to deliver with sincerity and diligence.
