A Senior Official from the Department of Information in Nadi who is charged with rape has been remanded by the Sigatoka Magistrates Court.

Isaac Lal is alleged to have raped a 19-year-old woman on the 2nd of this month in Nadi.

He made his first appearance in court today

The Magistrates has also instructed Lal to make a formal bail application at the Nadi Magistrates Court.

The case will be called again next Tuesday for bail hearing.
