Senior Citizens urged to share their talents

The sharing of talents and knowledge from senior citizens to younger generations is one of the major aims of the Golden Oldies club in the Rewa province.

While celebrating the senior citizens day with more than three hundred elderly yesterday, Golden Oldies Chairman Aporosa Tuqovu says senior citizens have a lot of talents to share and this needs to be passed on to the next generation.

“Most of the Senior citizens here are teachers, some of them are nurses, some of them are doctors some are engineers so so to speak, they have a talent and they can pass it to the younger generation.”

The Rewa province took time out to recognise the contribution made by senior citizens who have done so much for the province and for Fiji.

While officiating at the celebration, Divisional Planning Officer Central Uraia Rainima thanked them for keeping Fiji’s culture and tradition alive.

About 350 senior citizens were part of the celebrations from the12 villages in the province of Rewa.
