Tourism Industry veteran, Dixon Seeto has been endorsed as a director representing private sector on the board of the South Pacific Tourism Organisation.

SPTO, chief executive, Christopher Cocker says Seeto is the only private sector representative from Fiji.

Cocker says the decision to endorse Seeto was made based on deliberations at the Council of Ministers meeting in Vanuatu last month.

“Seeto’s position is to be included with our Chief Executive Officers of National Tourism Officers around the Pacific. We’ve got Seeto representing Fiji and the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association. That is a big asset to us because it is always good to have private sector feedback and input into developing specific tourism in the region.”

Cocker says there are a total of eighteen member countries and five private sector representatives that make up the board.
