About 250 police officers have been deployed for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s one day state visit.

The Fiji Police Force says it has completed phase one of its operations since the arrival of the Indian Prime Minister this morning.

ACP Rusiate Tudravu says this phase covered from Nausori Airport to the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva.

“We’re closely liaising with the security detail of the Honorable Prime Minister, we had discussed with them in the weekend and also they’ve recommended with the security arrangements so far but locally we have joined operations with the military on the closer protections and the inner and the outer corded of our security arrangements.”

Tudravu says the Indian security detail is satisfied with the arrangements made by the Fiji Police Force.
