Search for the children who were reported to have been swimming with the 7-year-old drowning victim has been called off.

The 7-year-old boy is the country’s latest drowning victim.

He drowned in Nasese, Suva yesterday afternoon while swimming with some of his friends.

Naisoro says they tried to resuscitate the child and later took him to the CWM hospital.

He was confirmed dead minutes after arriving at the hospital.

Police are pleading with members of the public to monitor the whereabouts of their children.

An investigation continues.
