The search for a 23-year-old man who went missing while swimming in the Nawaka River in Nadi on Saturday continues this morning.

Police say the search was called off yesterday afternoon due to the adverse weather.

The man was swimming in the river with another thirty-year-old from Qina Settlement, when he was allegedly swept away by strong currents.

The matter was reported to the police by the 30-year-old after he managed to swim safely to the river bank and could not find the victim.

More than 30 officers were involved in the search.
