The Seventh-day Adventist Church has raised concerns on the threats of violence.

The threats of violence were made towards those legally tasked to carry out an eviction process.

The Church had served 26 named defendants occupying its land at Tamavua-I-Wai with a court order to “give up occupation immediately”.

On Monday, a group of workers were acting on the court order to take down 15 houses in Tamavua-I-Wai that was sitting on the church’s land.

FBC visited the settlement on Monday where Police officers were also present along with a court officer to clarify the eviction situation.

When FBC News arrived at Tamavua-I-Wai on Monday, a house was already taken down.

A long meeting was held with Police, court officer and members of the settlement on Monday afternoon.

The Church claims they had requested the defendants to vacate the land on two separate occasions.

The Church adds they are now forced to take action after the High Court issued them Writs of possession against those who unlawfully remain on Church land.

The Church is calling on the people dwelling on their land to respect the court’s order.
